The Year 2000 in 1910

Humans have always been curious. Sometimes we wonder how life would be like in the far future, but there was a time when this very day seemed like the far future for those before us. It has always been like this, and I think we are just intrigued to know how easier life will be or maybe, dreadful. In 1910, French artist Villemard produced a series of illustrations depicting what life might be like in the year 2000. The illustrations are both interesting and amusing because he was using 1910 ideas to depict modern inventions. The result: flying firemen.  Here's a compilation of Villemard's illustrations, and a quote by Aldous Huxley. -"There are things known, and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception.- Aldous Huxley
